The Causes and Symptoms of Foot Pain
A strain in the foot is the most common injured bone. It’s because the feet are our standing support and responsible for getting us around. There is pain, inflammation, and swelling. Some common symptoms include pain near the heel, difficulty to bend the foot forward, and inability to stand on the floor.
Achilles tendinitis is the damage of the Achilles tendon. It’s linked to those who play sports such as basketball, tennis, or even marathon. The pain is often felt on the heels. Tenderness or stiffness may also be experienced.
Bursitis can negatively affect the foot and ankle joints. The fluid-filled support in the ankle that protects the joints gets inflamed decreasing the ability of the foot to repel or absorb shock. The joints also cannot move properly. There is also discomfort in the heel of the foot, a ball of the foot of the big toe joint. Bursitis in the foot can be caused by aging, sports injury, or a sudden bend of the foot or ankle.
Bone spur is a little pointed swelling of bone, and this can occur in the foot. Bone spurs can be due to arthritis and tendinitis. They are common in the heel bones of the foot and can result in foot pain, tightness, and weakness.
Some people with flat feet don’t get any of a foot arch condition. Some symptoms are discomfort in the feet, or difficulty standing on the toes. A flat feet condition may be genetic or due to an injured foot or broken ligament in the foot.
